Review of Darksiders.
As soon as we start the game we see… no, not the main menu, we see a super-epic backstory about the war of two worlds: heaven and hell. I’ll say right away that the localization leaves much to be desired, if the voices were more or less selected, then the “charred council” simply “killed” me. But you must admit, it’s better to know something than to know nothing. So they will tell us the story of how the third world – the human one – was created, as well as about its death. Yes, yes, we again find ourselves in a game where pathetic people die before SOMETHING. In this case, this something is heaven and hell. GG gets right into the center of events – into the city where meteorites disguised as monsters are now falling. And they even stole this – the main plot! But that wasn’t enough for them, they also almost completely stole the method of movement from “War of the Worlds” (let me remind you, there were lightning bolts). So we get into the game, where we immediately start beating monsters and… well, I can’t help but notice that half of the tricks are from different games! There are obviously techniques from the DMC series, I don’t know about GOW, because I haven’t played, but I’m just SURE that the combos are also taken from there. So we go a little further and see the chaotic form of the GG…do I need to remind you about the rage mode from GOW and the demon mode from DMC? In this case, copying comes from DMC. Let’s go a little further and what do we see?? first boss. Great, how do we kill him?? Throw cars at his head. Is it just me or is this taken from Prototype? Okay, I promise, from now on, nothing more about things stolen from other games. We didn’t completely kill the boss, because we were weakened by a strange “call”, after which we already see a video where the GG, whose name is War, reports to… well, the “charred council” and the council decides to sentence him to death. But then he decides not to kill him and sends him to earth so that he can decide everything.
Seven troubles – one answer.
I told you the https://healthgamescasino.co.uk/bonus/ basics of the plot, now let’s talk about the graphics. Graphics are a separate issue here. In some places it’s not bad, but here angular textures, houses and other objects often stick out. Overall, it’s pretty mediocre; in the midst of battle, of course, you don’t notice it, but when you go through the same scenery for the hundredth time, it’s painful to look at them. By the way, as far as the score goes, everyone will probably agree with me that the port here is very good, compared to DMC or SF4, but sometimes there are still moments when “damn, I fell because the character jumped there, and I pressed the button there”. Of the minuses, there is also a balance between complexity and interest. There were a couple of moments where I got stuck and I think I’m not the only one, but it’s a) either difficult b) too easy. You can spend 2 hours trying to kill ONE monster (especially strong), and then go through about a third of the game without getting stuck at all. But there is a problem: you won’t be able to sit down in the morning and rush through it until the evening. Still, there will be difficult moments, and even more so it will be long. Yes, yes, compared to other slashers on PC it is long. The plot, it should be noted, is not bad, but I won’t spoil it, I’ll just say that the end is predictable already in the middle of the game.
Half a kingdom for a horse.
Let’s move on to the weapons: here they are quite … unusual and do not quite fit into the world. For example, we get a pistol: this is normal given the ruined city of the 21st century, but it is not normal for the style of the game, where swords, claws, magic and wings rule. Also, around the middle of the game, our protagonist will be given a horse named Ruin. I can’t say anything about this – it seems like a horse, but it helps a lot. And it helps a lot because you have to ride or walk a lot, because this is the first slasher film with an open world in my memory. T.e. if you have opened the territory, then you can go there at any time using local “portals”, but after that it’s already necessary for two. You won’t be able to avoid visiting the local merchant – even if you’re playing at an easy level. Enemies evolve with you, so if you don’t buy upgrades you’ll lose your place in the food chain.
Result:
Rating the game on PC 7.2
Pros:
Free world.
Good story.
Various weapons and upgrades.
Cons:
Almost everything in the game is “stolen”.
The style fails.
Graphics “stick out”.
P.S. I would like to say that the rating was a little “high” because there are very few slashers on PC. If someone doesn’t agree with my opinion, that’s your business, but if you downvote, please write down why.
